Andy Serkis reveals how he could return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe like he did with Star Wars

Some of us found it unusual that Andy Serkis was appearing in a central role in Andor, the fantastic new Star Wars show available to anyone with a Disney+ subscription . After all, Serkis has already played a major role in the Star Wars mythology, pulling the strings as Supreme Emperor Snoke behind the scenes at Star Wars: The Force Awakens until Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) took it off the board Star Wars: The Last Jedi – a plot point that Serkis himself did not like it . Seeing Serkis’ return in Star Wars got us thinking…could he even be returning to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, where he once played Ulysses Klaw but met his end in the first film? black Panther movie. The I can’t do it anymore but could you play someone else?

Andy Serkis sat down with Gossipify to talk about his incredible work Andor as Kino Loy, an imprisoned man convinced to join the rebellion when Cassian Andor wakes up to the harsh realities of the Empire. And even though he was initially reluctant to take the role because he feared it it might confuse Snoke with him playing both roles, she finally accepted that Kino Loy was too good a character not to play and accepted the invitation. So when I asked Serkis if a return to the MCU was even possible, he told Gossipify :

You know, I like both universes, obviously. And that’s the best thing about performance capture. It allows you to become something completely different, to transform yourself… and how you manifest yourself on the screen is unlimited. That’s why I’ve always loved it as a 21st century tool for an actor, because it really allows you to dig deep and become something other than yourself completely.

Andy Serkis skirted around the point a bit, but pointed out that motion capture would allow him to return to the MCU, as it would be doing the opposite of what happened in Star Wars. Still inside the force awakensSerkis used mo-cap to portray Snoke as a warped, scarred and menacing antagonist . He had nothing to do with the actor Serkis, which allowed Andy to look like himself when he played Kino Loy.

On the other hand, Klaw looked so much like Andy Serkis that if you tried to bring him back as a human character, we’d probably draw comparisons to the character he played. black Panther Yes The Avengers: Age of Ultron… creating that confusion Serkis feared with Snoke. That said, Serkis is a master of motion capture, he could easily use the technology to play any number of Marvel characters in upcoming Marvel movies . Off the top of my head, Serkis would be a great Silver Surfer, Galactus, Dracula in the Spade movie, or the Beyonder (if used in any way in the Avengers: Secret Wars).

Plus, Andy Serkis is never a bad thing no matter what universe we’re talking about. His time with the Planet of the Apes series appears to be over, but motion capture could swing him between Star Wars and Marvel for the rest of his career if he wanted to. The that’s no good poison 3 for specific reasons then you should have all the time in the world.
