Sesame StreetThe American television program Fetish of Children for 55 years, will soon be available on Netflix while broadcasting PBS Public Network, their promoters announced on Monday.
The characters in the series, including Elmo, Big Bird, Toccata, Mordicus and Macaron Le glouton (Cookie Monster in VO) “They will arrive at Netflix this year, with a new new season (…) in addition to 90 hours of previous episodes, for everyone,” said Sesame Workshop, the non -component organization produced by the program.
Since its inception in November 1969, the program has adapted or transmitted in more than 150 countries. It is known in its French version under the name 1, Ruesametransmitted in TF1 from 1978 to 1982.
“Left propaganda”
Future episodes will be transmitted simultaneously in the United States on televisions on the PBS network, Digital PBS Kids and Netflix platforms, said Sesame Workshop in a press release.
This agreement with the American giant of “transmission” was revealed when the Donald Trump administration attacks PBS and the NPR public radio network, accusing them of being “completely biased” and feeding on the “propaganda.”
The US president signed a decree in early May asking the federal state to stop financing these two emblematic networks.
Sesame Workshop has been going through financial difficulties since the fall of the Trump administration subsidies and the expiration of an HBO contract.
However, NPR and PBS are only partially funded by public money, most of their budgets emanating from donors.
