Important economic benefits

The only village in the department of Isère to be classified among “the most beautiful peoples in France” since 2009, Saint-Antoine-L’abbaye is famous for its imposing abbey founded in the thirteenth century, which includes a museum on the history of the site.

The medieval city, which offers a view of the Vercors massif, delights heritage enthusiasts with their tortuous alleys, their colorful roofs and their houses part -time.

Thanks to this favorite French town, Saint-Antoine-L’abbaye can expect a tourist peak during the summer after the program and, therefore, important economic consequences.

The Breton people of Rochefort-in-Terre, chosen French favorite village in 2016, had seen their summer assistance from 600,000 tourists per year to one million. Many municipalities describe “the phenomenal impact” of the tourism program.
