Eliminated at the end of the third cousin of Secret history This Thursday, July 3, Marianne, candidate of season 13, came out of silence to react to accusations of racism and harassment that she is subject.
Because since the beginning of the season, many spectators have denounced behaviors of a racist nature by a group of candidates, of which Marianne was part, against two black candidates, Romy and Anita.
Several sequences, in which we can see that this group of candidates make fun of Romy and Anita or make them derogatory comments, have been significantly shared on social networks to support these accusations. Some Internet users have even issued reports to ARCH, the Audiovisual and Digital Communication Authority.
On June 28, the inhabitants of the Maison des secrets were entitled to a call to “respect and benevolence” by production. The sequence, published on social networks, has seen more than one million times in X.
“It’s very serious and, above all, completely false”
In a statement, published on Instagram, after its elimination, Marianne defended these accusations and wanted to clarify the situation. “If I am writing to you, it is because I have recovered my phone … and I discover the accusations of racism and harassment towards me. It is very serious and, above all, completely false,” he said.
The candidate, whose secret was “I have 11 slate names,” acknowledges having tensions with certain residents of the house, including Romy, but she states that “she has never made any racist or harassed comments anywhere.”
“Some things have been badly perceived, out of context … but what surprises me today is the violence I receive for something that has never existed,” Marianne continues.
“We may not like my personality, it is normal. I am human, not perfect, but I know who I am: these accusations go against my values, and everything that angry me deeply. I hope that with a little retrospective, I learn to discover myself as I am really,” concluded the candidate.
Compose sanctions?
Despite the intervention of production in the Chamber of Secrets last week, some Secret Story Rement fans, however, no sanction was taken with respect to the candidates.
“Frankly, I stop seeing a secret story. In 2025, see racist and colonial behaviors towards two black women on television, without any sanction or exclusion, as if everything were normal, it is unacceptable,” writes a user in X.
“It would be disappointed that I was waiting for sanctions from the beginning, but there is nothing #Secretory,” abounds in another.
Last March, TF1 had already been forced to go up to the niche to testify its support for EBONY, black candidate from another reality show, the Star Academythat had been aimed at social networks by racist messages.
“We condemn any form of hatred, insults or attacks against artists, which in no way have their place in our concert halls, or elsewhere,” the production that had threatened in a statement that had threatened “any representable behavior.”
