Brigitte and Emmanuel Macron are in Amiens this Tuesday, July 15 for the funeral of Anne-Marie Togneux. The older sister of the first lady died on July 2 to 3, at the age of 93.

Brigitte Macron has already lost several members of his brothers, his brother Jean-Claude, who led the paternal chocolate factory, who died in 2018 at the age of 85, but also his sister Maryvonne, died in a car accident when Brigitte was only eight years old.

It was in 1961, the young woman was only 27 years old and was pregnant. “My older sister committed suicide in a car accident, with her husband and the boy she was carrying. (…) She is with me every day of my life,” Brigitte Macron told the magazine in 2017. The couple left a girl, 6 years old.
Brigitte Macron also lost a niece, who died of acute appendicitis, at the age of 6. “A year later, one of my 6 -year -old nieces left. And my grandmother told me:” But why not? “This is where we understand that there is no ordering order,” he still delivered to Elle magazine.

His brother Jean-Michel, born in 1945 and his sister Monique, born in 1941, are still alive.
Anne-Marie Togneux died a few days before the state visit of the presidential couple to the United Kingdom, which took place from July 8 to 10.
