Prince Albert II celebrates his 20 years of reign with the Monegasques

A ceremony to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Prince Albert II’s reign was held in Monaco, this Saturday, July 19.

Prince Albert II of Monaco celebrated his 20 years of reign on Saturday with Los Monegasques, during a cocktail at the place of the palace that wanted intimate and festive, far from the turbulence that has shaken the principality in recent years.

Accompanied by his wife Charlène, his children Jacques and Gabriella, his sisters Caroline and Stéphanie and the entire Princesca family, Albert II was applauded by thousands of guests, facing vast buffets erected under canvases with red and white colors of Monaco.

“Everything I do, every day, either here, in international speakers, in the solitude of my office or in distant seas, I do it for you,” he launched, before remembering the “essential virtues” for your country: “work, the sense of reception, interest in innovation, ethical attachment and international openness.”

In Heavy Heat, the Princesca family wandered among the guests, in a jazz atmosphere. Sports and unique seducer in 2005, Albert II has now supported the full father’s disguise.

A voice that relates to the environment

Albert II has reigned since the death of his father Rainier III on April 6, 2005, but his advent was not held until July, after a period of mourning. Then the spirits had marked: “money and virtue must be constantly combined.”

In 20 years, Albert II has made his voice heard about the environment and accompanying the terrifying economic success of his 2 km2 microstate that combines Mediterranean climate, luxury, casinos, star restaurants, spectacular views on the large blue, safety and absence of corporate taxes or rent.

Real estate are the most expensive in the world and GDP was 9.4 billion euros in 2023, almost 50% since 2014.

Bad to align with transparency requirements

But Monaco struggles to align with international transparency requirements and the fight against money laundering or corruption. And the micro-state is also shaken by a battle of media and judicial that involve former relatives of Albert II accused of embezzlement of funds, which in return denounces a domain of the real estate magnate Pator Pator over the Principality.

“We do not pay attention to those who want to discourage, weaken, discourage us,” said the prince in his speech. “When you are a big family, you have a good life, there are always times when people are jealous,” said Michèle Robillon, 60 -year -old retired.
