Quentin Tarantino criticizes the ‘Marvelization’ of Hollywood

“Not all of these actors who became famous playing these characters are movie stars. Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star, it’s these franchise characters that become stars,” Quentin Tarantino said.

Omnipresence of the UCM

By Tarantino’s definition, actors like Chris Evans (Captain America) and Chris Hemsworth (thor) thus become more ambassadors for their character than stars in the classic Hollywood sense of the term.

If he assures that he does not hate Marvel movies, the director nevertheless specifies that he is tired of the omnipresence of the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) in the current Hollywood scene and reiterates his desire to never collaborate with the studios.

“I don’t hate them. It’s true. But I don’t like them. They’re the only things that seem to be happening right now that seem to be generating any kind of excitement among the fans,” he explains. .
