Netflix announces the launch date of season 3 of Monsters. The Ryan Murphy documentary series dedicated to the most scary murderers in US history will be broadcast on October 3 on the platform.
After Dahmer and the Menéndez brothers, this season 3 will focus on the history of the American farmer Ed Gein, murderer and corpse thief, who enraged Wisconsin in the 1950s.
Charlie Hunnam in the main role
Nicknamed the “Plainfield Boucher”, Ed Gein looted the burials or killed women to recover their organs and skin to make decorative items at home. Arrested and tried in 1957, Ed Gein was declared crazy and ended his life in asylum before he died in 1984.
His story has inspired many films such as Psychosis from Alfred Hitchcock, Motorcycle massacre from Tobe Hooper, Maniac By William Lustig or The silence of the lambs By Jonathan Demme.
On the casting side, he is the British actor Charlie Hunnam (Children of anarchy, the lost city of Z) that will reproduce Ed Gein on the screen. Laurie metcalf (Big Bang theory) will play the murderer’s mother, while Tom Hollander and Olivia Williams will play Alfred Hitchcock and Alma Reville, the filmmaker’s wife.
Suzanna son, Vicky Krieps, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Charlie Hall, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill and Robin Weigert will also play in the series.
A season 4 already in preparation
