The princess and the shaman … The story of Martha Louise de Norway, who married in August 2024, Durk Verett, African -American and self -proclaimed shaman, could only be inspired by Netflix. The platform dedicates a documentary to its history, entitled Real Rebel: an unlikely love story (Les Royaux Rebelles, an unlikely love story), which will be broadcast on September 16.
This documentary was announced last year, at the time of the marriage of Martha Louise and Durationk Verett. The platform has just transmitted the first trailer that shows behind the scene of its very controversial wedding in Norway. Martha Louise and her husband testify, telling inside her unlikely story, their meetings, but also the criticisms they have suffered.
“When I saw Vanity Fair’s article in a princess and a shaman who fell in love, I immediately caught my attention,” explains the documentary director, Rebecca Chaiklin in Netflix’s press release.
“Two completely unexpected characters”
“Märtha Louise and Shaman Durk were two completely unexpected, extravagant and charismatic characters, of totally different worlds, navigating in a whirlwind of controversies and fighting for their love. It was an incredible story, like a fish out of the water, and they were very funny. I only had to convince them (as well as the spirits) that it was enough” inspired “to be the one that would be the story.
Rebecca Chaiklin documentary, director of a spin-off of King Tigre Thus he proud to the testimony of the princess and the shaman. However, the trailer does not show the very controversial aspect of man, as Guru as an entrepreneur, also recently accused of sexual assault. For the princess, criticisms are part of racism and the untouchable character of the royal family, very popular in Norway.
