Margot Robbie shook the world when the first images of the Barbie movie have been released, showcasing her pink car, globe, and outfits. And while she’s helped put Barbiecore in the spotlight, she’s also sporting stellar outfits that aren’t necessarily what a “Barbie girl, in a Barbie world” would wear. More recently, she swapped the file bright pink we’ve seen in the viral photos in a stunning silky green gown as she and husband Tom Ackerley attend an awards show.
Many people brought their A-game to the Governors Awards, but Robbie looked absolutely stunning in her green satin gown. The dress was made by Bottega Veneta and featured a central slit, offset by the one-shoulder top. Look:
To complement the gold piece that connected the top and bottom of the dress, Robbie also wore chunky gold earrings and bracelets, her purse even had a gold accent that was shaped like a bow similar to the one on her dress. So while the green suit was the star of the show, his accessories complemented it beautifully.
Aside from the dress itself and the striking gold jewelry, the rest of Robbie’s look was simple and elegant. He let the dress speak for itself, and he did. His straight hair and soft glam were great choices and helped the dress stand out.
You’ll also notice Tom Ackerley, Robbie’s husband, in the photo. The two have been married since 2016 and co-founded LuckyChap Entertainment with two other business partners. A story Robbie talked about how Ackerley recently went viral when she revealed her husband was an extra Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. So not only are they both powerful, but they’re also a lovely couple, and seeing them together made me extremely happy.
LuckyChap is also one of the companies helping to create the Barbie movie, and it looks like they’ll have a real winner on their hands. Not only was it a huge talking point due to its well-known theme, but the stars of the film also raved about it. A dice Barbie problem members, Simu Liu praised Greta Gerwig’s screenplay , calling it “the best” he’s “ever read” and “crazy” in the best way. Gerwig also praised Robbie as an actor and producer, so all the love from everyone involved makes this film that much more exciting.
However, we will have to wait until the summer of 2023, according to the film’s schedule, to see Robbie in full Barbiecore. Great, because in the meantime, we’ll have plenty of epic outfits from the actress as awards season rolls around and she starts promoting. Babylonwhich falls right at the end of the cinema calendar 2022 .
Based on Robbie’s amazing costumes in Babylon Just the trailer and that amazing green Governor’s Awards dress, I’m sure there are more great outfits to come. Then we’ll see lots of fabulous hot pink dresses when she actually enters her-era Barbie next year.
