“It hurts all the time.”

The singer has trusted an autoimmune disease that causes chronic tags of the joints.

Questioned in the Podcast Alice Underground of photographer Alice Half, singer Louane revealed to have “ankylosing Pondilast”, a pathology that makes her suffer daily.

This “autoimmune degenerative disease” causes chronic joint inflammation. The artist, who represented France in Eurovision competition last May, said he regularly has “crisis” that harms him.

“It has been a long time since I had a real crisis in which I cannot walk. It has not happened to me for a while, at least one year. The last time it happened to me was tour last year at festivals,” he said.

“There is no possible rehabilitation”

According to the Ameli site, around 180,000 people suffer from ankylosing spondylitis in France, or 0.3% of the French population. This disease is recognized as an “invisible” disability, such as endometriosis.

Louane explains that there is no “possible rehabilitation” against this pathology. The only solution: “Many anti-inflammatory medications or is more complicated, such as anti-TNF alpha.”

“It is a bit intense or, in some cases complicated, they are infiltration. This is horrible. It is a kind of needles like you get in the back to go to your joints. I, it is axial. I have on my knees, in my ankles, on my wrists … so it hurts all the time,” he trusts.

To relieve these pains, the singer had to find alternatives. “Pay attention to what is not too inflammatory and that I do many pilates, it really helps,” she says. And to conclude: “I get better and better.”
