The M6 channel announced Monday the end of the transmission of its daily soap opera New day Released at the end of June, due to the disappointing public.
“Despite very positive criticism since its launch, and a substantial audience in M6+, a new day has not found its online audience (traditional TV, editor’s note),” the channel said in an AFP message.
This family saga, which is tied in a luxury hotel in Hérault directed by Louise (Helena Noguerra), will cease to be transmitted on Tuesday, September 23 online.
The new episodes of the series will now be accessible on the M6+ Online platform and the filming will stop after this first season.
“The observation we make is that there is no room for more than 4 daily series in linear soap opera,” M6 said, referring to the short format Domestic scenes.
A guy who has become essential
With New dayM6 tested a first foray into the very popular segment of daily soap operas, a genre that has long been absent from the PAF but becomes essential at the time of transmission and from the success of More beautiful life.
The daily soap opera of M6 had already experienced a first degradation at the end of August, when transmitted to 1:30 pm instead of 8:40 pm initially.
