These projects will be directed and produced by Darren Kyman (Asmodee), Pete Fenlon (Catan Studios), as well as Guido and Benjamin Teuber, the sons of the creator of Catan, who died in 2023.
Monopoly and Cluedo projects in development
Created in 1995 by Klaus Teuber under the name The Settlers of Catan, Catan has since established itself as a phenomenon, with more than 45 million copies sold worldwide, translated into more than 40 languages. Its principle: acquire resources on the island of Catania, exchange them, build roads and villages and try to accumulate points to win the game.
In addition to Catan, Netflix also recently acquired the rights to several other board games for on-screen development. The streaming giant has announced that it is working on a reality show inspired by Monopoly and a life-size competition adapted from Cluedo.
