So even by Marvel production standards , there is a lot of mystery surrounding it wakanda forever, including who will inherit the Black Panther cape. Thankfully, that cinematic image has gotten a little clearer thanks to the preview trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, which includes official confirmation that Namor the Submarine is coming to the MCU.
It has long been rumored that Namor the submarine, which has been in comics for over 80 years, would appear in Black Panther: Wakanda foreverwith Narcos: MexicoTenoch Huerta plays it. Well, it was finally confirmed today during wakanda foreverpart of the Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con. As a bonus, we also get a few short snippets of the fan-favorite character during the powerful Wakanda Forever trailer, including a close-up of Namor de Huerta below:
With “No Woman, No Cry” playing throughout Black Panther: Wakanda forever trailer, the preview did not delve into the specific details of the story. As for Namor the submarine, there have been several interpretations of the character throughout his life, and nowadays he leads the forces of Atlantis. wakanda forever it looks like it will deliver a hellish Wakanda against Atlantis, to the point where the trailer ends with the new Black Panther taking on Namor. Speaking of which, while it hasn’t been explicitly stated who will become the new Black Panther, it has been suggested that, like her comic book counterpart, Letitia Wright’s Shuri will take over.
But Namor and Atlantis were only one aspect of the Black Panther: Wakanda forever trailer, as we also meet other familiar characters, including Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia, Danai Gurira’s Okoye, Winson Duke’s M’Baku, Angela Bassett’s Ramonda, Martin Freeman’s Everett K. Ross, and Florence Kasumba’s Ayo. Ramonda experiences a particularly moving moment when she exclaims the following:
I am the queen of the most powerful nation in the world and my whole family is gone! Haven’t I given my all?
It is still unclear what happened to T’Challa after the events of ending of the Avengers, although such a statement, plus a moment when we see a mural of him next to two drummers, indicates that he is no longer with us. Ramona’s husband T’Chaka has also been missing for some time, but Shuri is still alive, so is there a mother-daughter separation? We’ll have to wait and see, although I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention that along with Tenoch Huerta’s submarine Namor, let’s take a look at two more new characters in the Black Panther: Wakanda forever trailer. Dominique Thorne’s Riri Williams, who will return to direct Disney + Heart of stone series, Shuri can be seen greeting, and the unnamed character Michaela Coel also appears, who appears to be a member of the Dora Milaje (albeit in blue and gold armor instead of red and silver).
Black Panther: Wakanda forever will be released in theaters on November 11th.
