A few days after the announcement of the death of American actor Jason David Frank, his wife Tammie Frank speaks. In a statement released by the magazine Peopleshe reveals the causes of the disappearance of the actor, known for his role in the series Forest ranger. The man who played Tommy Oliver, one of the costumed vigilantes in the hit franchise, has committed suicide at the age of 49.
“My husband, Jason David Frank, tragically lost his life to suicide last week,” she said. “Her death of him shocks me as much as anyone. I had no idea Jason was thinking of ending it. Yes, I had battled mental health issues and depression in the past, but I never would have imagined what was to come. He passed that night.”
To answer the speculation, he reveals the details of what happened on the night of November 19. After “a particularly rocky year” marked by the death of Tammie’s daughter, whom she raised with Jason David Frank, the couple briefly separated. She had just given their 19 years of marriage a new lease of life and had decided to leave for the weekend of November 19.
“He had his demons”
“When we got back to the hotel (after a night out), we had a heart-to-heart and emotional conversation,” she says. “To help him relax before he fell asleep, I went downstairs to get us some snacks in the lobby. I couldn’t have been gone for more than ten minutes. I got no answer (…) When the police brought me downstairs, they managed to open the door and discovered that Jason had committed suicide.”
“It was supposed to be a fun ride, and instead I lost the love of my life,” she adds. “Jason was a good man, but he had the hell about him. He was human, like all of us.”
