The Guardians of the Galaxy are finally back after what seems like an eternity, and they’re doing it with their own Christmas special on Disney+. The special sees Mantis and Drax trying to give Quill a memorable Christmas, and it seems he wasn’t the only one who loved what they did. Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special it crushed it in a major way for the MCU.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the special has 89% Tomatometer reviews, making it one of the highest rated MCU productions on the site. In fact, it’s the 21st highest-rated MCU project on the Tomatometer. While that may not seem like a large number, there are 51 MCU projects with Tomatometer scores. The holiday special is related to strange doctor on the Tomatometer but has an 84% higher audience score than black Panther with 79%. (black Panther ranks among the best MCU projects with the Tomatometer, however, at 96%).
The tutors special is rated a film on RT, which is why it currently ranks 14th on the Tomatometer among other MCU films. If it was rated in the TV category, it would be at number 8. Regardless, just days after the special release on Nov. 25, it’s doing an amazing job. And part of that may be due to a certain secret that has come to light.
Spoilers ahead for Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special. It wasn’t just about looking for Kevin Bacon for a memorable Christmas Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas SpecialWell, he also revealed a big secret that actress Pom Klementieff had been keeping for quite some time. In the final minutes of the special, Mantis revealed to Quill that Ego was also her father, and Quill was happy to learn that he had a sister. It was the best Christmas present he’d ever gotten, and while it was a revelation that some fans saw coming, it was quite emotional. End of spoilers.
Meanwhile, if the qualifications for the tutors special delay, this could be a good indicator of the quality of the third film. After the Mantis reveal, it should be interesting to see what else happens guardians 3, as James Gunn said earlier was his favorite. As the Guardians did not play a significant role in Thor: Love and thunderTo be able to see them again before their next film is a delight, especially to see how well they did.
