At 66, Francky Vincent is part of a class of 450 personalities -among them the rapper Orelsan or the humorist Régis Laspalès- “who have distinguished themselves for their creations in the artistic or literary field or for the contribution to the influence that ‘ have brought the influence of Arts and Letters in France and in the world”, the Ministry of Culture specifies on its site.
To appear on this list, published on November 25 after a decree of October 17, personalities must be “at least thirty years old and enjoy [leurs] civil rights”.
He became the “king of naughty zouk” with hits like Fruit of the passionfrom the 1991 album Alice slideseither you want my penis (2009), the Guadeloupean has been packing his bags for a few years in the Aisne de Sinceny.
Less prominent of late, Francky Vincent, whose real name is Franck Joseph Vincent, rose to prominence last January during an unexpected and wacky “presentation” titled Turn off the light, along with rapper Alkpote. According to France information, the artist gave some thirty concerts in campsites in France during the summer.
