King Charles, who was taking a walk in Luton, north London, in the city of Luton, was the target of an egg throw. A suspect in his twenties has been arrested.
Bedfordshire Police told AFP the man was “detained for questioning” over “assault”.
According to information from Sky News, the king was briefly taken out of the crowd and transferred to another area, where he was able to continue shaking hands with him.
Earlier in the day, the sovereign met with members of the Sikh community and borrowed the new public transport system that connects the capital with Luton airport.
The king had already been the target of an egg throw on November 9, when he was in York with his wife Camilla. According to witnesses present at the scene, the individual, quickly arrested by the security services, then shouted in the direction of the sovereign that the United Kingdom had been “built on the blood of slavery.” No shell had touched the royal couple.
