Before Todd and Julie Chrisley went through a series of legal troubles, they and their family were famous for being reality TV stars. The breeding program is now based in Tennessee, Chrisley knows best, was a huge hit for the US network after debuting in 2014. Like most shows of its genre, it has garnered a huge following. Of course, not everyone has tuned in for a few years, including Todd and Julie’s own son, Grayson Chrisley, who revealed the reason for the choice.
Grayson was seven years old when his family first hit the small screen and has practically grown up in the public eye. The youngster, now 16, mentioned the same thing during an appearance on his sister’s show Savannah. unlocked podcasts (opens in a new tab). Some were probably surprised when they heard what the teenager had to say about her relationship with the show as a viewer:
I haven’t even seen myself growing up on TV. I’ve never seen an episode.
Chrisley knows best focuses on the ups and downs of real estate mogul Todd and his family, who were living an extravagant life in Atlanta when the show began. There have been a number of notable moments throughout the show’s nine seasons that are largely due to childhood mischief. At times, Grayson has even been involved in his brothers’ schemes. Yet for all the madness, he doesn’t see the appeal:
I don’t think it’s interesting. I mean, I don’t like it, but apparently people do.
Based on these comments, it’s natural to wonder how he really felt about filming the series. During the interview, he went on to say that as a child he initially couldn’t understand his family’s unique situation, but that has changed over time:
I mean, I didn’t really understand what was going on, because I was like, ‘I really don’t have a choice.’ I had fun because I didn’t understand. The older I got, the more I thought, “Oh, I have to do this. I thought it was cool, but the cool dude is fading.
These feelings are understandable, because you probably can’t stand the cameras following you for so long. It’s interesting because in some cases, as viewers, we may not consider how the subject of a reality show feels when being filmed. One might be tempted to assume they’re fine, especially since they’ve signed up. But in this case, Grayson Chrisley probably didn’t have much to say since she was very young at the start of the series. It’s very obvious that he’s quite nonchalant about his time on television and can be happy that he’s finally coming to an end.
Julie and Todd Chrisley were found guilty of bank fraud and other crimes last summer and just a few weeks ago they were sentenced to a total of 19 years in prison . Both are expected to appear in jail in January. It has since been reported that Chrisley knows best It has been cancelled and will air a tenth and final season in 2023. Meanwhile, the Chrisley plans to appeal but still works to ensure that the children in their care are cared for.
Grayson, who was recently hospitalized after a car accident, it should be placed in the custody of Savannah Chrisley . She will also be Todd and Julie’s niece/adopted daughter, Chloe, though she’s the mother of hers trying to participate in a custody battle with the Chrisleys . Time will tell how Grayson is doing with his family. But one thing that seems obvious now is that he has no plans to watch his family’s show anytime down the road.
