With dance with the stars there are rumors of big changes for next season and the departure of several longtime stars, including judge Len Goodman and professional dancer Cheryl Burke, seeing some TAKE A STEP vets get together is a joy. Burke recently met up with former host Tom Bergeron and some fans got a big reaction.
Cheryl Burke and Tom Bergeron had a sweet reunion recently, and Burke has been posting some fun pics on Instagram. Though Bergeron left the dance series a few seasons ago, it appears he’s remained close to the professional dancer, and it seemed like no time had passed:
Burke and Bergeron weren’t the only ones happy with the reunion. The post was quickly flooded with comments from fans longing for what was before. the.real.susie.q has even longed for a new show with just the two of them, noting host Tyra Banks doesn’t give up on them:
Can you arrange your own celebrity dance show? I can’t watch DWTS anymore! Tyra is not right for the show.
Though it’s only been a few seasons since Tyra Banks took over hosting Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews, she’s already seen more than a few controversies throughout the series. Especially after the move to Disney+, some fans feel like the show just isn’t the same since Bergeron and Andrews left, including hoegie12:
It hasn’t been the same since he left.
Then there’s also chach1006, who said it directly TAKE A STEP it just got worse after Bergeron was no longer the host:

Meanwhile, some fans are simply holding on to hope that Tom Bergeron will return TAKE A STEP one day, let alone hope that one day it will be September 2023, to be exact, as orlee_pena:

Tom Bergeron hosted dance with the stars for the show’s first 28 seasons, with Erin Andrews starting in season 18. The dynamic duo quickly became beloved co-hosts for 10 seasons, both leaving the dance show at the same time. The outlet still sings and some fans aren’t happy with their replacements, as Petebotos pointed out:
He and Erin were the best hosts. They should never have been replaced. He wasn’t happy to know who had replaced them.
While their departure was a bit premature for many fans who didn’t want to see them leave, Bergeron and Andrews had nothing but good things to say when it was announced that Alfonso Ribeiro would be joining Tyra Banks as host of the season. 31 So while they may not have the best feelings about how they left things, it’s good that they don’t hold a grudge about whoever replaced them.
As for Cheryl Burke, it’s especially great to see her with Tom Bergeron since her recent departure. TAKE A STEP himself. Burke wrote a sentimental statement after the season 31 finale after Charli D’Amelio won Mirrorball. We can only imagine whether Burke and Bergeron have given their time TAKE A STEP, and who knows? Perhaps they’ve even discussed returning to the Disney+ show in the future.
