CBS will celebrate the holiday season soon with actress Liza Lapira playing a very different role than fans of the draw they are used to seeing. She plays Natalie must love christmas, playing a writer famous for his Christmas romance novels, but this time the author might be the one to find love. Lapira spoke to Gossipify about starring in must love christmas In addition to his role in the drawthe benefits of working with Hallmark Christmas film alumni Neal Bledsoe and Nathan Witte and how this film will stand apart from the holiday package.
must love christmas sends writer Natalie to the town of Cranberry Falls and finds her caught between Nick (Neal Bledsoe), a reporter who wants her to tell his story, and Caleb (Nathan Witte), her childhood crush. While it’s safe to say that some sort of conflict is on the way, even in a genre known for being light and witty, it won’t be on the scale of what Liza Lapira finds in the draw, currently in its third season on CBS. When the actress spoke to Gossipify about her new project, she shared what attracted her to the role of Natalie and must love christmas:
Well, I’m a fan of rom-coms, especially a fan of Christmas rom-coms, so being offered the lead in this genre is already exciting for me. Then I read the script and played someone who has a real track record, not just in terms of romance, but in his personal life.
Natalie has a journey to go beyond the choice between two men who are unearthed must love christmas with plenty of experience in Christmas movies, but not the kind of journey his Mel character embarked on the draw. Liza Lapira had to flex a few different acting muscles for the trip to Cranberry Falls for an experience that’s more fun than full of stunts. When I asked her what it was like for her to watch a Christmas film of her work on the hit drama, she shared:
It was amazing, I’ve been dying to do a rom-com. I mean, comedy is what I started out doing, definitely in TV, so it’s a genre I’m a fan of and something I wanted to do as an actor. So it was just a refreshing change. If you’re going to go from someone so confident, someone who (I seem to do a lot of stunts, especially this season) is so physically confident and physically imposing to someone so small, it’s fun to go 100% upside down, and being someone that the most physical thing to do is pick up your cat.
Stunt-wise, Mel definitely has a lot more going for her. with Queen Latifah’s Robyn McCall rather than picking up any pet, then must love christmasNatalie is definitely a different direction that Liza Lapira has enjoyed exploring. According to the teaser Natalie is known as the “Christmas Romance Queen,” but she hasn’t dated in years and sparks will fly with not one but two men for possible forever bliss!
And who better than two stars who know a Christmas movie well to star alongside Liza Lapira in a Christmas romantic comedy? The protagonists Neal Bledsoe and Nathan Witte have arrived must love christmas With a certain Original Christmas Movies in their names. Bledsoe (who recently made an emotional statement in response to Candace Cameron Bure’s GAF controversy ) play Coming home for Christmas Yes a Christmas carousel. For her part, Witte had roles in a Christmas treasure Yes a Christmas miracle as just two of its Hallmark credits.
So, do the two Hallmark vets have any advice for Liza Lapira in her first starring role in a Christmas movie? The actress confirmed that “they did” and that she “really” enjoyed it, then she continued:
They brought their experience. They are veterans of this. That’s what they’ve done so many times. They brought their main masculine auras upon them. They play the main roles and are leaders. They also brought a sense of play and presence. They have been very supportive and accepted me from the start. They were generous actors. They have given the best they have received, they have given beyond. They’re both imaginative and funny and charming guys, and they brought that to me on screen and they brought it to me off screen. I can’t say enough about how talented and beautiful these guys are, and I think you can see how much fun we have on screen. There’s just a feeling of the game and a sense that we all like to be together. I think this translates.
While Liza Lapira and her two Christmas movie veterans enjoyed spending time together while working must love christmasWill this be the case for Natalie, Nick and Caleb? Christmas movies can usually be used for happy endings, and it’s likely that neither of them will win the girl over. Liza Lapira teased how she thinks fans won’t know who to support:
There are some hints because it is not clear or very obvious. It’s for me, but I’m there too. I read the script and was there, but I heard some people had already seen it halfway through. [through] They didn’t know which way it was going, and that’s very exciting to me. Because there’s a sense of predictability and I like it in rom-coms and procedurals. You know what’s going to happen. You just don’t know how we’re going to get there, and the fact that some people saw this movie and didn’t even know where we were going to get there is just another layer of “Oh, Cold.” We have really gone above and beyond in our work.
Thankfully, fans of Christmas movies (e Equalizer viewers who want to see Liza Lapira in a different character), the wait for the film is almost over. must love christmas (opens in a new tab) previews Sunday, December 11 at 21:00 Paramount+ Subscription .
