John Belushi suffered from a severe drug addiction which ended his life at the age of 33. Young Belushi saw the same thing happen to super fan John Belushi and sl played by Chris Farley. Jim Belushi had witnessed the ravages of drug addiction from within and did not want Farley to suffer a similar fate. His brother John Belushi rose to prominence during its five-season run sl.
