When Edward Norton made a guest appearance on the Dax Shepard Podcast Armchair for experts this week, the actor who is among glass onion The stellar cast shared his experience working with the James Bond actor as a humorous and quirky detective character. In Norton’s words:
One of the wonderful things was realizing that Daniel Craig in his DNA was perhaps more like Blanc than Bond. It’s very, very funny.
Craig’s James Bond was far more serious than his partnerships with Rian Johnson, and the fight club The actor realized that perhaps 007 was distorting his perception of him. Norton continued:
He’s an English actor, you know what I mean? In fact, I have to say that Bond is iconic and I think he was perhaps the best, or one of the two best Bonds of all time… But I think, as good as Bond was, I’m very impressed with Benoît Blanc. because he made it up. This is from him, he created it, and I had a hard time keeping a straight face on set with him. He is very funny and is a nice physical comedian.
We don’t necessarily equate Daniel Craig to comedy as he’s taken it shaken, unshaken since his Bond debut in 2006. But thankfully Beniot Blanc exists. Craig recently hit an average of Golden Globe nomination 2023 for glass onionafter previously being recognized for the same role in knives out so Edward Norton must have spoken enthusiastically. Norton also had this to say about his work with Craig:
I decided to try without asking him, in a moment of fear, holding him very intimately. And you think, “I know he’s just an actor like me, he’s not really James Bond, I wonder if he’s okay?” When I grabbed him he made the funniest ass shaking and looked over his shoulder like a French Molière actor or something.
