James Gunn of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 explains how Rocket is the “secret boss” of the franchise

The MCU is a gigantic property, but some franchises stand out as fan favorites. by James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy is definitely in this category, and his next blockbuster flight. 3 is one of the most anticipated upcoming Marvel movies go to the bottom of the line. Gunn recently explained that Rocket is the “secret lead” of the franchise and how pay off in the highly anticipated sequel .

While the main character of Guardians of the Galaxy franchise could be Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, these are really joint projects. Bradley Cooper’s Rocket Raccoon is a constant scene stealer, survived Thanos snap and is also the last character we see in flight. of them. James Gunn has made his love for Rocket clear over the years, and smart money says it will pay big time for guardians of the galaxy vol. 3. Later in that same interview, she explained how she had always thought about the importance of Bradley Cooper’s Marvel hero. In her words,

For me, Rocket has always been the secret protagonist of the Guardians movies. From the beginning, he’s been ingrained in who he is as a character. I think he exemplifies many of the traits of all Guardians. They’ve had all these traumas and it brings them together. I just think yours is more extreme than the others.

Indeed, part of what unites the Guardians of the Galaxy is the childhood pain they endured. Though we’ve seen glimpses of Rocket’s scars on the big screen, it looks like James Gunn’s third part will finally reveal exactly what’s wrong with him. I don’t know about you, but I bring my own tissues.

The notion that Rocket’s trauma is “more extreme” than that of his teammates certainly says something, especially considering the backstory of characters like Nebula. She was constantly tortured by Thanos and mechanically enhanced, all because her sister Gamora consistently outmatched her in combat. But somehow Rocket’s backstory is even worse. James Gunn further explained, saying:

He was okay with being an animal and turned into something else he didn’t want to be. I think the transformation itself was extremely painful, but I also think it made him feel incredibly alienated from everyone else. in flight. 3, we learn a lot about his past: where he’s from, who he is and what he’s been through. The road was difficult for the little animal.
