Miss France 2023 wants to “help women with cancer to regain their self-confidence”

The day after her coronation, the new Miss France Indira Ampiot returned to the cause she wants to highlight during her tenure this year.

For her first interview since her coronation on Saturday night, Miss France 2023, Indira Ampiot, “still on a little cloud”, detailed the main cause she intends to defend throughout her term.

Questioned on the set of the JT of 13 hours of TF118-year-old Miss Guadalupe, who succeeds Diane Leyre, specifies that she wants to use her popularity as Miss in part to “help women with cancer regain their self-confidence.”

“To comfort”

A cause with a very personal resonance that Indira Ampiot dedicates to her grandmother, who recently died of cancer and who was her “source of motivation” during the competition.

“She was attacked with five cancers. Being a very flirtatious woman, […] Every morning we did her makeup and combed her hair with my mother, we took her to the beautician”, explains Miss France 2023.

And to add: “I know it gave her hope and balm in her heart, that’s why I want to take it to all women.”

Sponsor of the Amazones Guadalupe association

Right after her victory in the national election of Miss Guadalupe, it is her grandmother that Indira Ampiot turns to to announce the good news, despite her fragile health. “When she saw me with the scarf and the crown, she noticed her and for me it is a sign”, she confesses.

Once elected Miss France on Saturday night, the young woman returned to dedicate her victory to her grandmother. In addition to her commitment as Miss, the communication student also became the godmother of the Amazones Guadeloupe association in October 2022, which accompanies Guadeloupe women before, during and after their cancer care journey.

Indira Ampiot is the fourth Guadeloupean to become Miss France, succeeding Véronique De La Cruz (1993), Corinne Coman (2003) and Clémence Bottino (2020). The 18-year-old will now have to leave her native island to fulfill her new duties that will take her to travel around France.
