While there haven’t been many official announcements about the specials lately, it seems we now have as much evidence as possible that the new Dr. Ncuti Gatwa will have a part to play. Ncuti Gatwa led to instagram recently and shared photos of the Doctor who together, The Doctor’s New Costume, Supporting actress Millie Gibson is coming and another tidbit fans may have missed. There is a photo of Sex education He looks like the Doctor on the tablet but, as some may have noticed, he doesn’t wear the same outfit he showed in the photos of his post. These actually look like the same clothes we saw his character wearing. the special one Who images we have seen from him so far. Those who watch it again will notice that there’s someone else wearing these clothes earlier in the trailer, and that’s David Tennant’s incarnation of the Doctor.
What does it mean? There seems to be a strong possibility that David Tennant’s doctor will become Ncuti Gatwa’s iteration. Although to some it may seem obvious Doctor who fans, there has been speculation about the special creation of a multiverse in the series and in the process, perhaps justifying the existence of multiple doctors at once. One can’t help but think that Tennant’s iteration of the hero will respawn into Gatwa’s version, but when will that happen?
Given past regeneration trends, it’s possible that Tennant’s Doctor will become Gatwa’s Doctor before the end of the 60th anniversary special. We can’t say if this will happen in the final moments of the series or somewhere in between, but it’s gradually becoming a possibility.
