Season 3 of Emilia in Paris We’re almost there, as it’s one of many shows set to premiere on Netflix in December 2022. Darren Star’s romantic drama series has attracted a lot of people over the last few years, so you can understand the hype. However, there is one aspect of the series that fans have been asking for clarification. Of course, there are more than a few items in the Emilia in Paris it doesn’t make sense, but perhaps more important is how Emily can afford all those fancy clothes. Well, series star Lily Collins has finally weighed in on the lingering mystery.
During the Season 3 premiere, Lily Collins spoke to Daily Wear for Women and shared her thoughts on how her character can afford a big wardrobe with a variety of clothes. The explanation she provides is relatively simple and reasonable:
I love this suspension of disbelief idea that this girl loves fashion so much. I like to think that she and Mindy [played by Ashley Park] they have a giant clothing storage that they share, or maybe Emily has a clothing rental situation.
A theoretical rental scenario would make for an interesting story, but it should definitely follow the series. However, the character’s wide range of clothing is part of what makes the show entertaining, so some preppers may prefer that the show maintain that suspension of beliefs.
As fans continue to wonder about Emily’s wardrobe, they’ll also want to get ready for the new looks she’s going to have this year. Lily Collins says that after three seasons, Emily will embrace more French-style sensibilities as she finds more inspiration in her own life, from her friends to her coworkers. Of course, she’ll still be the same Emily we all know and love, though Collins did say there’s a greater sense of “sophistication” to her attire in the new episodes.
Lily Collins has previously been open about Emily’s “boring” qualities, though she finds her quirks mostly endearing. But with any show, there has to be character growth. So she’s not surprised that she’s really starting to evolve. She’s exciting whenever you see a character grow over time. You’d think Darren Star and his team would like the main protagonist to be more in tune with the country’s culture if the series continues. And I hope they proceed with some respect, as the show demonstrates. has received criticism for how the show portrays the French.
Other than that, it’s going to be exciting to see what happens in Season 3. Personally, I can’t wait to see what surprises are in store. Based on Lily Collins’ quotes, we probably won’t have a definitive answer as to where Emily’s seemingly endless wardrobe came from this new season. We’ll have to see if the writers choose to tackle that in the future.
