Phase four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is officially over and it’s been amazing. The studio has been throwing plenty of twists on fans, thanks to new movies, TV shows, and special appearances. Sam Raimi Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness it definitely came with a few surprises, including the introduction and impending massacre of the MCU’s Illuminati. This footage featured John Krasinski, who recently spoke if he will come back Like Reed Richards from the Fantastic Four.
When Disney acquired 20th Century Fox and its properties, it finally opened the door for the X-Men and/or Fantastic Four to finally join the MCU. Fans have been theorizing for years. on which actors might play these beloved heroes, with John Krasinski being the most popular for Mister Fantastic. Sam Raimi subverted expectations of presenting the Office shine like the hero to strange doctor 2, before being brutally killed by Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch. Krasinski recently shared with the casing whether or not he hopes to return to the shared universe, speaking candidly with:
There’s no argument, the only argument I’ve had was actually about Jack Ryan’s penultimate week. Kevin Feige called and said, would you like to fly to LA and play in our sandbox for a day? I had the honor of doing it. I flew directly from Budapest when we finished and went straight to the Doctor Strange set. I’m a huge fan of all these characters and this world, so to be able to play in this sandbox for a day was really exciting.
Well that was really honest. Although John Krasinski’s brief role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness broke the internet and drew applause from the audience, it was actually a very short interaction for the acclaimed actor/director. Also, he apparently hasn’t had any real talks with the studio about reprising the role. Does this mean the role will be recast for Matt Shakman’s development? fantasy movie 4 ?
John Krasinski’s comments help shed some light on what the MCU is like, especially for a guest actor appearing for a brief cameo. His role as Reed Richards hadn’t been planned much in advance, even though he clearly wanted to be a clown. And as such, fans may not want to pay too much attention to the events of strange doctor 2 to inform the next fantastic four movie .
Later in that same interview, John Krasinski explained what it was like filming his brief but memorable role in strange doctor continuation. She also talked about the creepy way Scarlet Witch killed off her character. In her words,
She is crazy. To be in a room with all these people and to be a part of this narrative again is crazy. But yeah, becoming spaghetti wasn’t my ultimate goal in life as far as how it works in the Marvel Universe, but you know how much fun that was.
Given the spaghetti of it all, fans are wondering if John Krasinski might get a chance to play Reed Richards again in the MCU. Though apparently the actor himself hasn’t been contacted, which could be a bad sign. Technically the Illuminati of strange doctor 2 they came from Earth-838, while the main timeline of the MCU is Earth-616. So Marvel Studios could easily bring in another actor to play the role, especially now that fans have accepted the variations as part of the lore.
The next installment of the MCU is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantummania February 17th. In the meantime, check out the Movie release dates 2023 to plan out New Year’s theatrical outings, we’ll have to wait and see if John Krasinski ends up reappearing as Mister Fantastic. Fingers crossed.
