if you saw the crazy trailer of M3GAN , the latest Blumhouse production, you already know that a killer doll awaits us, the likes of which we have never seen before. The titular evil AI is dancing across screens and into our lives in less than a month, and many are looking forward to it. next horror movie out in theaters. Annabelle and Chucky, devour your hearts. Well, director Gerard Johnstone has no intention of letting out the magic that brought the new horror icon to the big screen. In fact, the director has a surprising answer when asked how the doll was created.
while you talk to Total Film via CBR Gerard Johnstone stumbled upon our sister site Total Film and revealed (via RBC) that neither he nor anyone else involved with the film could say exactly how they brought the doll to life for the big screen. Whether it was performed by a live actor, animatronic, CGI, or a combination of all three techniques, Johnstone didn’t disclose. All the director would confirm with certainty is that it was a “layered approach”. (It doesn’t sound sinister at all.)
Still, it’s a thrilling take on Blumhouse and the filmmakers to take on the sinister character. The second trailer, which was recently released, shows the ghostly M3GAN, which is located exactly in the strange valley, in action. I think the director and his team are keeping it a secret how they brought the malevolent character to life so close to their breasts that it only makes the character more unknowable and even more creepy. It’s an ingenious choice that will consciously or subconsciously make viewers uncomfortable when they finally see the film. Watch the trailer below:
The film centers on a roboticist (played by get out of allison williams ) at a toy company that uses artificial intelligence to develop the lifelike doll that gives the film its name . The high-tech toy is programmed to bond with his granddaughter (played by The Hill House haunt Violet McGraw), as well as to protect the girl. But the doll takes things way too seriously and her overprotective nature leads to all sorts of bloodshed in horror movies.
based on first reactions from M3GAN can be one of best horror movies in recent years. Well, if not one of the best, at least it will be one of the funniest because producer Jason Blum, whose production company Blumhouse teamed up with James Wan for the horror film – promised a film that embraced elements of dark comedy.
The mystery surrounding how the filmmakers brought M3GAN Does à la vie make the cinematic experience a little more unsettling for the audience? I guess we won’t know until viewers see the doll in glorious action for themselves. The film will be released in theaters on January 6, 2023.
