Swedish clothing giant H&M announced on Tuesday that it was withdrawing the sale of a collection signed by Justin Bieber after an angry message from the Canadian star claiming he had not given his consent for this “garbage”.
“The H&M merch they did with my name on it is rubbish and I don’t approve. Don’t buy it,” the 28-year-old singer said in an Instagram post.
This range was put up for sale “entirely without my permission”, he also claimed.
Collection withdrawn from sale
Contacted by AFP, H&M announced that it had withdrawn the entire range from sale “out of respect” for the artist. “As with all other licensed products and partnerships, H&M has followed the appropriate approval procedures,” a spokesperson said in an email.
“But out of respect for the collaboration and Justin Bieber, we have removed the garments from our stores and online,” he added.
H&M has worked for several years with Justin Bieber for products that associate his name or his tours. The range currently on sale included sweaters, T-shirts, phone accessories and a duffel bag.
