After scenes of joy and smiles, we perceive through small touches crack zones in this isolated man, a little lost, and who captures with his video camera moments of happiness with Sophie, full of life.
The film also subtly deals with Sophie’s transition from childhood to preteen, forming relationships with teenagers at the vacation club and discovering early flirtations. In a fine and personal way, after the sun explores themes of happiness, family ties, parenthood, and remembrance.
