British director Mike Hodges, known in particular for directing flash gordon in 1980, he died at the age of 90, his producer announced this Wednesday to various media.

Film noir and space opera
Mike Hodges directed two noir films in particular with Michael Caine: middle law (Get Carter) in 1971 and pulp the following year, helping launch the star actor’s career.
In 1980 he produced the space opera flash gordon, adaptation of the homonymous American comic strip with Ornella Muti and Max von Sydow. Among his most recent works are Distributorin 1998 then his last film only death can stop me with Clive Owen and Charlotte Rampling in 2003.
