There are celebrities who stay in a very narrow lane on Instagram. Overwhelmingly, they post a specific type of content and/or seek a specific tone, and nearly everything we see from them follows that format. Not Britney Spears. The beloved singer, since she gained full access to her social media accounts after her tutelage, is remarkably candid in her communications with fans and her content touches on many topics. She sometimes talks about her past and her fractured relationship with her family members. She sometimes she talks about social media itself. She sometimes posts photos in various states of undress. Or, in yesterday’s case, she sometimes she puts it all together in one article.
Spears took to Instagram on Tuesday to post a series of photos and videos from inside a shower in Mexico. She is currently on vacation with husband Sam Asghari and has dropped four messages from a two-hour shower. Below, she’s included the image, along with a caption that she mentions how Instagram doesn’t allow people to post their bodies, other than crossing the border into Mexico. She also said that she was now allowed to drink coffee and invited her ex-mother over for coffee to “talk about it.” You can check out the post below…
Britney Spears’ relationship with her family members is complicated to say the least. She was placed under guardianship in 2008 after some public incidents and hospitalizations. Her father, Jamie Spears, was appointed conservator in a position she held until 2019. The conservatory was subsequently dissolved and Spears has openly expressed her anger and resentment towards her father. her for checking her out. . He, on the other hand, insisted that guardianship was necessary.
She also expressed much anger towards her mother, Lynne Spears, for advocating guardianship and not speaking up, although her mother disagreed with this assessment. The pop star also accused her mother of hitting her. The Spears family matriarch has repeatedly publicly apologized and has repeatedly insisted that she just wants her daughter to be happy, although, as with most family comings and goings, there are many different versions of events.
Over the past few weeks, Spears has shown a possible willingness to reconnect with her family. She posted a thoughtful tribute to her sister Jamie Lynn Spears, and now she’s almost opened the door here for her mother. Obviously, to be clear, there is certainly some shade in the message relating to not being able to have coffee and ask him for it, but it seems, at least from my point of view, that the door is half open.
It’s unclear what Spears’ fans might think as she recently disabled comments on her Instagram page. She hasn’t provided any explanation as to why, but if you’ve ever spent time in her comment section, it’s pretty clear. Conspiracy theories that she was posting old content or content from her old home and how that could mean she wasn’t responsible for her account were raging. Add to that the number of fans who would openly question her viewing decisions, and the result has been a very toxic environment. Hopefully, without that negativity and her potentially open door to reconciling with her family, the pop legend is gearing up for a big 2023.
