The holiday season can mean curling up with a cup of hot cocoa while watching your favorite holiday movies, including Hallmark movies. The network is known for its wide range of movies surrounding the winter holidays, though star Lacey Chabert has pointed out the filming of those movies that it’s a bit awkward.
While Hallmark’s Christmas movies always seem like the best winter stories, they’re filmed months in advance to wrap them up in time for the holidays, meaning it’s not as cold or snowy as it should be. Though she likes to celebrate Christmas six months early, Lacey Chabert tells CBS News that the temperature is problematic:
I really like Christmas. Ever since I was little, I’ve lived for Christmas. I love being able to live in Christmas Land in July when we normally make these movies, and even though we’re wearing seven coats and it’s 108 degrees outside, and you’re about to pass out because you’re sweating so much. .
It’s clear that Lacey Chabert loves making movies, but I don’t blame her for not loving the heat. It’s hard to get into the holiday spirit when you’re dressed like you’re in the 1920s and it’s really over 90 degrees. At least she’s surrounded by Christmas decorations to keep that in mind. Plus, you’ve filmed enough to know what to expect now! Maybe at some point I can make a Christmas movie over the winter, even if that means waiting even longer for it to come out.
Lacey Chabert quickly got into the holiday mood in August before filming a new film, while promoting her Hawaiian film. Go outso maybe she wasn’t completely in the holiday spirit at the time, but a holiday themed outfit could probably make anyone happier.
Meanwhile, filming isn’t the only way to get into the holiday spirit. Earlier this year, Chabert and other holiday movie stars gathered for Christmas Con, and surely the temperature was a lot more regulated than the place in the summer to pretend it’s cold!
Amid compromises at Hallmark with rival channel GAF, Lacey Chabert has shown her allegiance to the network that has been her Christmas movie home for years.
