There has been a lot of hype about Hallmark and GAF this holiday season. This is partly because the two cable networks air competing Christmas movies. This is partly because GAF’s stars come largely from Hallmark’s pool. Finally, it’s also happening because Candace Cameron Bure made some vocal comments about her new network’s approach to “traditional marriage” and how her old home feels like a “totally different network” following the departure of team honcho Bill Abbott . It’s sparked a bit of controversy online, and now Christmas star Lacey Chabert has been asked how she’s feeling.
Lacey Chabert has been a mainstay of Hallmark for a long time, ever since Elevator girl: 49 years old came to the network in 2010. Over the years, she and Candace Cameron Bure have been involved in the channel Christmas film programme programming and have been friendly on social media, even afterward News of Bure’s departure dropped . So when Chabert was asked about the turmoil surrounding Bure’s comments earlier this year, it’s no surprise that he focused on his own feelings around the network.

Hallmark hasn’t been shy about committing to diversity moving forward. This year, the channel created the first LGBTQ-led romantic comedy starring Jonathan Bennett in the head. The network said at the time that it was committed to bringing many kinds of romance to the big screen, with programming executive Lisa Hamilton Daly noting:
It’s important because we really want to show that everyone understands their romance. It’s not just straight couples. It’s not just white couples, everyone has their own love story.
Meanwhile, GAF has gone in a different direction with its programming. Candace Cameron Bure has been candid about it and has received backlash for her comments, although the poinsettia Danica McKeller said she supported Bure’s intentions after Bure announced that GAF would keep “the traditional grassroots marriage”.

In the interview, Chabert was asked about his feelings about other stars leaving and whether or not he has contacted her. he noted the situation with familiar faces that deviate from the grid that made them household names:
You know what, I wish you all the best. I can’t really say more about it, other than that I care about everyone involved.
She also said in the interview, “I’m with Hallmark and I work for them” when asked if anyone had tried to steal it herself. This is good news for fans, as Chabert recently started filming another trilogy of Bride veil film with fellow co-stars Alison Sweeney and Autumn Reeser, with the former hit TV show Jan. 7.
