today’s program has been without Al Roker, one of the show’s most beloved personalities, for over a month. The expert meteorologist was hospitalized in mid-November after dealing with a serious medical situation. And although he was released before Thanksgiving, the 67-year-old was readmitted later that month before returning home in early December. Roker appeared on the show a few days later to explain it wouldn’t be back for a while . However, the news has now revealed the date of their return, and it’s early.
During the January 3 edition Today , it was revealed that Al Roker would be reprising his role on Friday January 6th. The news was confirmed by co-hosts Savannah Gunthrie, Craig Melvin and Hoda Kotb. The hosts seemed more than excited to be reunited with their colleague, and the same is probably true of loyal viewers. The news comes as a surprise, considering the update provided by Roker himself less than a month ago. Though during the same update, he did mention that he was making progress.
The popular newscaster, who has been on the show since 1996, was hospitalized in November with blood clots in his legs and lungs. Consequently, he had to Miss your first Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 27 years. When the media veteran was hospitalized in December, the reasons for his return were not made public. This second period would eventually see him absent during the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree lighting.
Al Roker was incredibly candid when he returned to the series on Dec. 12 to provide an update on his health. He explained that he was dealing with “a number of problems” and that he “did physical therapy every day” to try and regain his strength. As he addressed his colleagues and the general public, he also took the time to thank the healthcare professionals who have been instrumental in helping him and his family.
Though the star is long gone, she has certainly remained in the hearts and minds of her friends and colleagues. She recognized him during the Thanksgiving parade with a few words of support. And around Christmas, the Today the hosts and crew made for an emotional visit at the weatherman’s house to spread holiday cheer. The staff are clearly eager to find you, con Carson Daly also offers a fun version because you have to come back sooner rather than later.
So you should be pretty excited by now to hear that Al Roker is returning to the fold, and it’s also likely that Roker is more than eager to get back into the old rut. Also, I don’t expect the reporter to be rusty when he gets back. He’s been doing this job for a while, and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him regain good flow pretty quickly.
We at 24 News Bulletin wish Al Roker health and success in his return to work and if you can’t wait to see him again on your screen, tune in. today’s program Friday, January 6 at 7:00am ET on NBC. Also, keep an eye out TV show 2023 for more offers coming in the new year.
