the fifth part ofevil Dead is revealed in a first trailer. Co-produced by Sam Raimi -at the initiative of the saga in 1981- rise of the wicked dead tells the story of two separated sisters, whose reunion is interrupted by the appearance of carnivorous demons, the Deadites.
Written and directed by Lee Cronin, this new film is announced, according to this first trailer, more gory and demonic than the original trilogy by Sam Raimi. Not really a sequel or a remake of the franchise, rise of the wicked dead it wants to be “a completely different Evil Dead movie” according to Bruce Campbell, interpreter of the star character of Ash Williams.
“People can call it whatever they want: a sequel, a remake, a reinvention. Actually, it’s just another complete Evil Dead movie. It focuses on the book. It’s about the Necronomicon,” the actor had specified in an interview with Entertainment weekly. in July 2021.
Premiere scheduled for April 19
If the first films of the Sam Raimi trilogy starred Bruce Campbell, the 64-year-old actor will not be on screen this time for this fifth installment, like the Evil Dead reboot in 2013 imagined by Fede Alvarez. The interpreter of Ash Williams will however be the executive producer of the film along with Sam Raimi.
