Spoilers ahead for the winter premiere of chicago fire Season 11, entitled “Something for the Pain”.
chicago fire debuted in 2023 with an episode that was supposed to resolve the explosive cliffhanger of last year’s fall finale, which left the fate of baby, SculptorYes First Detective in danger with to cut look in horror. Just as promised by the co-executive producer, “Something For The Pain” picks up where the last episode left off. The danger of life and death was resolved from the very beginning, and at the end of the hour, Violet made a move that creates a whole new problem for Firehouse 51.
Let’s start with the good news coming out of the terrifying cliffhanger!
How Chicago Fire Solved the Cliffhanger
The good news is that Kidd, Carver and Pryma survived the explosion and were alive and well after a few weeks of recovery. Kidd required surgery after being hit by shrapnel and needed the painkillers that gave the episode its title, in Chicago Mediterranean back to his seat, with a distraught Severide standing beside him recovering. Pryma wasn’t ready for the credits yet, but his spirits were pretty high and he’s ready to receive a medal for all the lives he saved. As Pryma pointed out, he saved them in the heroic act of being accidentally hit by the rocket, but the disaster would have been much worse without him.
However, that doesn’t mean that all three can get rid of the emotional effects of the explosion! Carver was nervous and self-doubting as soon as Kidd returned to work; Kidd herself suffered from nightmares, although she covered for virtually everyone except Severide. As for Pryma, he is in early retirement from the CPD. It seems like a safe bet that Kidd will at least deal with trauma in the future, but Pryma and Carver seemed to be fine by the end of “Something For The Pain.”
How Violet created a new problem for Firehouse 51
Unfortunately, Violet has made a move that guarantees it emma It will become a problem again. Blinded by the need for revenge after learning that her sociopathic former paramedic landed a job at CFD’s internal affairs, Violet complained to Emma’s boss, who was willing to listen to Violet but could do nothing without her . . deal with. blackmail Chief Hawkinswhose death was one of the most shocking on television in 2022. Emma somehow found out that Violet had turned her in, and now Violet isn’t the only one with vengeance on her head.
While Emma didn’t explicitly threaten Violet, she did say she thought they were “even” after she cleared Carver during the bridge incident (which involved some serious stunts by Taylor Kinney), then added, “But now…” The implication is clear that Violet is Emma’s target again. By itself, that doesn’t necessarily mean that he would try to take 51 down to get at Violet, but Brett signaled to his partner that 51 would get her back if Emma tried anything. If things go wrong, there could be collateral damage beyond Violet!
For now, fans can at least stop worrying that Kidd and/or Carver will suffer permanent physical injury from the explosion. Sure, there’s something new to worry about with Emma shortly after Violet thinks she’s free and free from her season 10 nemesis, but it’s certainly a juicy story for the second half of the upcoming season 11.
