For many horror fans. The spell is part of best horror movies of the 2010s and, quite possibly, of all time. But according to longtime franchise producer and series lead director James Wan, the fourth installment could be the last installment, at least for actors Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson’s Ed and Lorraine Warren.
James Wan promoted the next horror movie version, M3GAN, which produced with a frequent collaborator Jason Blum. During one of these conversations, Wan was asked about the fourth Evocation film and his future plans for the franchise. The director said he was “very valuable” to the series. He also said that movement in the upcoming film is slow because he wants to make sure the emotions are right for Warren’s potential story “summary.” The director told him Collider:
Yes, we are working on it right now. With Conjuring movies, we appreciate a lot [them]. So we want to take our time to make sure we’re doing it right and make sure the emotion of the Warren stories that we want to tell, and moving forward, and potentially concluding, we just want to make sure it’s the right thing, the right story that we’re telling .
The director’s comments suggest that the next installment of Evocation The universe could very well be the last, or at least the last with Farmiga and Wilson. However, pressed by the interviewer, Wan was not ready to confirm anything with certainty. Wa continued:
We will never know. We will never know. We will see.
I hope we Evocation fans remain optimistic that there may be more future installments in our future, even if it’s not a “No”, their answer certainly isn’t a “Yes” either… Maybe the continuation of the series depends on the box office performance of the confirmed. spin-off and the next installment of the main series?
