leave it at Criminal minds to reveal the fate of one imperiled character but not the other, making it difficult for fans to feel relief while still worried. In a new interview with TV insider Erica Messer talked about everything Evolution. When asked about setting up another season, Messer said the stories could continue and while there will be some closure, there will still be some details:

Some of it is closed and some of it is a tease so it can continue next year. We wanted a satisfying ending to this 10-episode run, but we also wanted to establish the promise of more to come, so it has both elements.

It’s hard to say what will happen in these final episodes, but it’s good to know that there will definitely be a good ending as a possible season is brewing. Because the episodes are longer on Paramount+ than on CBS, the series has the advantage of telling more stories, even if the season is shorter. After all these stories, seeing how they all come together will be something to look forward to, but whether or not they all have a happy ending remains to be seen.

Something else fans will be dying to see is more information on Reid and Simmons’ whereabouts. The Prime Minister said the two have a job that can’t really be talked about, but will be very much needed in future episodes and much of the story, according to Messer. It should be interesting to see how that plays out. If there is another season, we hope to see the return of Matthew Gray Gubler and/or Daniel Henney.

new episodes of Criminal Minds: Evolution returns Thursday, January 12 and can be streamed with a Paramount+ subscription. Also, be sure to check out 24 News Bulletin’s 2023 TV schedule to see what to expect this year.
