Steven Spielberg is one of the greatest filmmakers of all time, with a career spanning decades. He has a great knowledge of film history and has seen many different films over the years. What some may not know is that he has delved into the filmography of Seth Rogen, star of Spielberg’s latest adventure, The Fabelmans. However, Spielberg has never taken drugs, so his take on some of Rogen’s films is a bit odd.
Spielberg and Rogen recently appeared at the Palm Springs International Film Festival to promote it The Fabelmans where Variety asked them about their collaboration. Spielberg was asked about his familiarity with the collaborator’s work and which of Rogen’s stoner films was his favorite. The director’s response is priceless, especially when it comes to Very ugly.
Well, having never been made, I don’t see them as stoner movies. I see them as movies about a cop giving sound and sensible advice to an impressionable young man!
Rogen laughed as the director did his analysis of the high school comedy. You can watch the entire interaction below.

Weather Very ugly It’s definitely a stoner movie, the master director’s heart is definitely in the right place. Honestly, Steven Spielberg’s image staring Very ugly in his spare time it is almost as entertaining as the film itself. It may have been the movie that convinced Spielberg to hire Rogen The Fabelmans. Spielberg also worked with Bill Hader, who played Rogen’s fellow cop in that film, so maybe he’s just a great Very ugly fan.
While Rogen and Spielberg probably have very different recreational hobbies, they are a perfect match. The Fabelmans which is a semi-autobiographical film based on Spielberg’s childhood. The film tells the story of a boy named Sammy and his ambition to become a director while dealing with his complicated family dynamics. Rogen plays Benny, Sammy’s father’s best friend who significantly disrupts the family unit. The film also stars Paul Dano and Michelle Williams, who masterfully play Sammy’s parents. The film is a delight and receives rave reviews from critics.
It’s a dramatic turn for Seth Rogen, who is primarily known for his comedic work. He seems to want to continue on this path when he has just finished filming. stupid money about the chaos on Wall Street as GameStop’s stock skyrocketed. He will star again opposite Paul Dano, and the film is directed by I, Tony Director Craig Gillespie. Rogen may step away from the world of comedy, but hopefully in the future she will make more raunchy and hilarious stoner films. I mean, we know Spielberg will watch and enjoy them, even sober.
