Special forces: the toughest test in the world It wasted no time in becoming one of the toughest celebrity-focused reality shows on TV, as viewers saw four celebrities walk away in the first two hours. Three of those outings were due to medical necessity, but despite his injuries and ailments, one former contestant is already poised to return should there be a Season 2. Dr. Drew Pinsky really lived it up during his short time on the program, and is ready to retry if prompted.
I had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Drew Pinsky about my participation in Special forces: the toughest test in the world, and after hearing about how she broke down in tears while suffering from heat exhaustion in the medical tent, I asked her if she would ever try again if the show gave her the chance. Pinsky noted that a show staffer had asked him the same thing and explained why he was willing to do it all over again if asked:
I said, “You know, I think I have to.” I have something to prove. I’m angry that I didn’t get to stay as long as I wanted to. It would be hard for me to say no. My wife may have another idea about this. [laughs]. But I would really struggle to say no. I have an unfinished business and I could come back in the same case, but I would certainly be more prepared.
You may need to talk to your wife and really commit to drinking water in the weeks leading up to it, but Dr. Drew Pinsky is surprisingly willing to give it a try. Special forces: the toughest test in the world again. He’s not even entirely sure he’ll fare better given the chance, but I still give him credit for being forthcoming.
Dr. Drew Pinsky easily mastered the first challenge of falling backwards from a helicopter into water, but then ran into a lot of trouble. Pinsky told Gossipify that the crew chastises celebrities for not always refilling their water bottles, so she avoids drinking in his cafeteria often to avoid getting his crew in trouble.
Not drinking at his cafeteria meant Pinsky was not hydrated enough and he began to feel sick in the intense temperatures of the Jordanian desert. A doctor at the scene eventually decided that his heat exhaustion had progressed to the point that he needed treatment elsewhere, and the former talk show host was sent to hospital for further treatment.
Considering all of this, it’s surprising to hear that Dr. Drew Pinsky wants to compete again in a future season of Special forces: the toughest test in the world. The experience didn’t sound pleasant for everyone involved, including singer Mel B, who Pinsky noted she bonded with pretty quickly when she confessed that seeing all the white penises during a bathroom break had traumatized her. I know I wouldn’t be at all interested in reliving what Pinsky endured during her short time on the show, and I would be interested in hearing what other celebs think about their comeback.
Special forces: the toughest test in the world airs on Fox Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET. Watch it and some other new shows from the 2023 TV schedule as the new year begins.
