After Leaving Showbiz, Law & Order: Organized Crime’s Brent Antonello Gets ‘Directions’ From Chris Meloni To Return

Law and order: organized crime returned in 2023 to go full throttle in a new arc involving street racing, which meant Det. Jamie Whelan goes undercover to hone his drag racing skills and infiltrate a gang. Moreover Analyzing Jamie’s risky undercover move With his cable retirement, Brent Antonello told Gossipify how he got back into television during Organized crime after I quit acting… and got advice from Chris Meloni about it.

Jamie Whelan joins the Organized Crime Task Force at the start of season three, with newcomer Bobby Reyes (played by Arrow student Rick Gonzalez). You have clearly admired Stabler from the beginning and they have also collaborated on more than one occasion. What was it like for Brent Antonello working with Christopher Meloni while Jamie works with Stabler? The actor shared:

It’s funny, because we haven’t really talked about it, because I jumped into the show. Chris gave me little hints and tips on the technical aspects, because every program has a different pace and this program also has a specific pace. It’s just ‘go, go, go, go, go’. Let’s play as if it’s actually happening. In fact, before I got the show, I quit acting. I was working as a landscape account manager and got this program. So I was getting everything back, all those old muscles. It was great because it matched the admiration of Chris, an actor you look up to. It’s like Jamie with a cop you look up to. He’s an icon for Jamie, Chris is an icon actor for me.

Who knew Jamie suddenly jumped into the task force in parallel with Antonello jumping straight into the hit NBC drama after returning to acting? Luckily, Chris Meloni was able to help with some advice and it’s hard to imagine many more qualified people. After all, he starred in Law and order: SVU for over a decade before returning as Stabler for the spin-off.

This advice seems to have paid off, as I never thought Brent Antonello would work as a landscape account manager like his job before. Organized crime. The actor continued:

Then Chris looked at me. [as] the new kid on the show, and it worked. It was fun. This chemistry was already there. I don’t know if it was because of the situation or something, but it just happened naturally and it was good. I don’t know if it sounds weird, but it was the right time, the right moment, the right chemistry, and we had it, and we still have it, which is really cool.

Organized crime it might not work as well if there wasn’t the right kind of chemistry in the team; Luckily, he was apparently there from the jump for Brent Antonello and Chris Meloni. Sure, Meloni is iconic on the small screen for her chemistry with his exes. SVU co-star Mariska Hargitay, with very interested fans in the Elliot Stabler/Olivia Benson relationship . (I can’t be the only one who wants to see Stabler’s reaction to Duarte and his “attraction” to Benson in SVU Right?)

So what happens to Jamie after he lands his first big shot at going undercover? Well, despite Stabler’s big show of self-confidence in the winter premiere, the promo for the Jan. 12 episode says the older detective is ready to step in and get back to undercover work. To take a look at:

Stabler may have many years of undercover experience, but the promo suggests he’s in trouble this time around. He is also not fit to work at UC whenever he gets the chance! But would you want Jamie to come back, if that’s what happens after the next episode?
