As it has been more and more time since ABC has taken CMG3 features TJ Holmes and Amy Robach off air, in response to their budding romance in light, it’s gotten harder for viewers to understand why there hasn’t been a resolution yet. The network is reportedly digging into the details, though apparently there doesn’t seem to be anything damning to be found, as Holmes and Robach were candid about seeing each other when their respective marriages fell apart. And with no clear end to the situation in sight, it appears both hosts have done very well and are set for a heads-up if network execs make the decision to fire them .
At this point, it’s unclear whether ABC will find compelling evidence of serious wrongdoing on the part of TJ Homes and Amy Robach, and it appears the pair are increasingly concerned about the safety of their antenna positions. Second tmz extension , the network didn’t share any reasoning for exactly why they faced off-air retribution. As such, Robach hired Andrew Brettler, a well-known Hollywood attorney known for defending high-profile celebrities from public backlash, along with former clients like Armie Hammer and Prince Andrew. Meanwhile, Holmes has enlisted the services of famed Los Angeles attorney Eric George, who previously represented Amber Heard.
So far, however, it appears that Andrew Brettler and Eric George have failed to get justifications and answers from ABC regarding their respective clients’ job security. But their efforts appear to be taking this situation to the inevitable next step, as they reportedly plan to file a lawsuit against the network if Homes and Robach are fired or if they don’t appear on TV without an explanation.
Additionally, there are also claims that the legal duo have plans to refocus some of the presenters’ punishments through a racial lens. The goal would be to ask ABC executives the following question:
Has ABC ever used the character or conduct clause to fire or discipline 2 equally consenting adults when they were both white?
It’s suspected that this would be the first time the network has relied on the morals clause regarding a mixed-race relationship, though it’s unclear what ABC has done in the past regarding same-race peers. Whether or not that will affect the final judgment is unclear.
Either way, the lawyers plan to show how damaging it would be to the careers and reputations of TJ Holmes and Amy Robach if they get fired for it. While other reports are true, it also doesn’t appear that their reputations are held in high esteem on daytime television, given that the pair colleagues of CMG3 presumably they are not satisfied with them for bringing the respected morning series into such a protracted scandal, e others under the ABC News umbrella they are also disgusted with the way Holmes and Robach have handled things.
While we don’t yet know what will happen to Holmes and Robach, there have been reports ABC selected possible replacements in case the couple is fired. It seems both sides are planning for any eventuality but hopefully things will come to a peaceful conclusion with no more dirt and hurt feelings.
