However, since their father had 40% custody before Presley’s death, one could assume that the girls would eventually move in with him, but the situation may not be that simple.
What could be the custody issues for Lisa Marie Presley’s twins?
According to another report by tmz extension it is possible that another of her ex-husbands, Danny Keough, and/or their 33-year-old daughter, Riley (who stars in following Daisy Jones and the six ), will seek custody of the twins in court, despite the fact that California law would allow Lockwood to assume full custody in light of Presley’s death. Keough considers himself the girls’ “stepfather” despite the fact that he and Michael Jackson’s former partner divorced after six years of marriage in the spring of 1994.
During their marriage they also had a son, Benjamin, who sadly committed suicide in 2020. The former couple they started living together again in the aftermath of his death, helping his ex-wife care for their youngest children. Since there are reportedly a lot of hostile feelings between Keough and Lockwood, those close to the family believe she may want to take on full parenthood for the twins.
It’s also believed that Priscilla Presley could make an offer of custody, but anyone attempting such a move would have to prove that the girls’ father is somehow unsuitable. And, if someone tries to take custody of you, since your daughters are teenagers, the judge will want to hear them to determine where they should live.
All in all, it’s an incredibly sad situation, so hopefully the best course of action is quickly found for the boys in the face of their mother’s death.
