NCIS: Los Angeles Is Wrapping Up After 14 Seasons, CBS Promises ‘Great Start’

They NCIS extension Apparently, the franchise has gone from strength to strength on CBS after the three-show crossover between the original series, NCIS: Los AngelesYup NCIS: Hawaii. Now, however, the second longest-running show in the franchise is just months away from finally ending. NCIS: Los Angeles will wrap up with its season finale on May 14. With the network promising a “big send-off,” what should fans expect before the credits roll?

News since NCIS: Los Angeles the end comes less than two weeks after its successful crossing with NCIS extension Yup Hawaiiand the series already has a date for the finale: May 14th. CBS Entertainment President Amy Reisenbach paid tribute to the series and teased what’s to come a bit, saying in a statement (via THR):

For 14 seasons, NCIS: Los Angeles was a mainstay in our lineup with characters that were a joy to watch. Unsurprisingly, this show has been a hit as a global franchise. From day one, the cast, producers and crew have been incredible network/studio partners, and their teamwork, talent and wit have shined through on screen. We are so grateful for the partnership and extraordinary careers of these beloved members of our CBS family, and plan to give them and their fans the big start they deserve.

There is no denying the success of NCIS: Los Angelessince few network TV shows can go 14 seasons and hit the 300-episode milestone, which THE arrived in April 2022. The show was a hit right from the start when it premiered in 2009 and ran longer than the NCIS: New Orleans spin-off that ended in 2021 and the hit series brought Scott Bakula very hard. Amy Reisenbach’s statement could be bad news for fans who have been wanting to see her THE It goes on long enough for more mega crossovers, but the promise of a “big send-off” is something to look forward to in the weeks leading up to the finale.

It’s early enough that the show doesn’t have any specific plans for the finale just yet, though I’m sure I’m not the only one holding out hope that Hetty will make at least one more appearance in person, depending on whether or not she does. it would be possible with actress Linda Hunt. Hetty’s absence has affected the rest of the characters and it would be a relief of her to see her again as a bookend.

After all, three of the four lead agents have been on board from the start, with Eric Christian Olsen’s Deeks joining Chris O’Donnell’s Callen, LL Cool J’s Sam, and Daniela Ruah’s Kensi as series regulars in this season. The show’s latest news is that it’s time to plan for an ending that can (hopefully) come after 14 seasons and over 300 episodes. In a personal statement, showrunner R. Scott Gemmill revealed plans to deliver “a satisfying series finale that does justice to these beloved characters.”

NCIS: Los Angeles it will have lasted 322 episodes by the time the credits roll. Though that might seem like a small number compared to shows like traditional series NCIS extension, Law and order: SVUYup Grey’s Anatomy, few programs can last that long with such success. There have been weddings, funerals, comings and goings, ups and downs in the years since 2009; Undoubtedly, there will still be ups and downs in the remaining months.

For now, fans can still expect new episodes Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS in the 2023 TV schedule. If you’ve missed anything from season 14 thus far, you can catch up with a Paramount+ subscription.
