We live in a world where franchises dominate Hollywood, and that doesn’t just mean endless remakes and reboots, but also producing sequels to years or even decades old projects. A sequel to best weapon became one of the highest-grossing films of all time last year, and one of Cruise’s former co-stars in another project, Interview with the vampirehe wouldn’t be against revisiting his old character, as he would like to know what happened to him.
Christian Slater recently appeared in the Disney+ series Willow, which took over the cult film story more than 20 years later. I recently had the opportunity to speak with Slater after the Willow conclusion of the first season, and as an actor who has been making films for many years, I asked him if there was any of his old characters that he wanted to revisit. He suggested he character of him, the titular interviewer in Interview with the vampire, Her story remained open and she admitted she was curious about what happened next. He explained…
I felt like with Interview with the Vampire, Tom Cruise bit my neck and at the end of the movie he said, “I’m going to give you the choice I never had.” I’m curious what choice this character made.
Albeit different than Anne Rice Vampire Chronicles the books were made into film adaptations, technically there was never a direct sequel Interview with the vampire with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Therefore, the final scene, in which Cruise’s Lestat bites Christian Slater’s character, is never followed directly.
Based on the fact that Slater’s character specifically asks to be killed off in the scene above, it seems likely that the choice he made was to become a vampire. Also, it has to be said that if the character chose not to convert, it wouldn’t be a great movie.
There’s a particularly interesting reason why the follow up at the end of Interview with the vampire The film would potentially be interesting, as the film ends differently from the original novel, while Christian Slater’s character takes a permanent role in the larger franchise and ends up becoming a vampire, happens quite differently in the books. .
As such, a sequel to the character today would almost certainly see Slater’s character in a very different place. This would essentially allow for a completely original story. so maybe a Interview with the vampire The legacy suite isn’t a bad idea. The fact that Interview is now a TV series probably means that the rights situation would make such a film difficult to make at the best of times, but if modern Hollywood has taught us anything, it’s never too late to go back to a popular TV series.
