Well, I figured I probably wouldn’t be there for a 50th birthday, so why not celebrate a 25th birthday? We re-released the movie 10 years ago with the 3D conversion, to great acclaim, and we were like, ‘Okay, there’s another kind of half a generation of people who haven’t seen Titanic in theaters and maybe they’re very homesick.’ , you know, among people who have seen it in a theater or have always wanted to.

It might seem like a strange concept to spend Valentine’s Day weekend watching a movie about star-crossed lovers trying to survive the disappearance of what’s been billed as “The Unsinkable Ship,” but there are a few good reasons why you should. The epic film is a poetically beautiful reminder of what true love is. A tear can still be shed remembering the simple but beautiful wish made by Kate Winslet’s Rose and Leonardo DiCaprio’s Jack: “You jump, I jump.”

In the spring of 2012, Titanic it was re-released in 3D. Reviews for this iteration have been a bit mixed. Just 24 News Bulletin 3D review or not he said the conversion worked better for some scenes than others. However, there were those who sang her praises and people showed up. This release may not have hit No. 1 at the box office like its predecessor, but it did hit No. 3 in its opening weekend, grossing $17.3 million in America. Worldwide, it grossed $343.4 million, much of it from China, which contributed $145 million. Ultimately, the film became the highest-grossing re-release of all time, which speaks to its resilience.

James Cameron looks like a director who thinks a lot about each of his projects, no matter how long the process. He then told SiriusXM that the release date of TitanicEven the 25th anniversary of is no coincidence:

And then the question was, ‘Okay, what’s the date?’ Well, the date that made sense to me was Valentine’s Day, because in the original version, which ran from 1997 to 1998, we were dating a few days before Christmas. I believe it was December 16th. But the day the highest grossing single was released was Valentine’s Day. [It’s] somewhat obvious why, but highly unusual for a film that’s been on the market for two months to have its biggest opening day ever. It is therefore a feast of love. It’s a celebration of the film at the same time, and it’s also a celebration of the film’s success.

The question now is whether the film will be as successful today. Well, the odds of Titanic The re-release that hit the worldwide box office at No. 1 looks meager. Though it’s still interesting to see how it manages to perform in the long run. As the director has indicated, a whole new generation of people are likely eager to see the ambitious production on the big screen for the first time, and it could be a boon to their chances. We’ll have to wait and see how many feel the love when the movie comes out again.
