Kylie Jenner debuted a lion head dress and fans have thoughts

Kylie Jenner finally revealed the name of her almost 1-year-old son over the weekend, presenting it hundreds of millions of social media followers in the air of the child. Her name is said to mean ‘Lion of God’ and the 25-year-old fashionista seemed to be leaning heavily into that theme with a fat cat look that was definitely turning heads. While attending the Schiaparelli couture show in Paris, KarJenner’s younger sister wore a black velvet gown by the designer, with a huge faux lion’s head stitched across the front of her. Suffice it to say that the fans had different opinions on the choice.

The reality star gave Big Leo Energy at Paris Fashion Week, sharing a series of photos of her Schiaparelli dress for instagram and in his stories:

It’s definitely a bold look, with the king of the jungle piece taking up space all over the star’s torso. Though the makeup mogul clarified in his post that the realistic-looking lion head was created with man-made materials, some Twitter users he still seemed to think that the chatterbox was capable of biting passers-by, and they said:

Kylie Jenner… this lion head is too photorealistic for my comfort

Several other people in her Instagram post commented that even though the lion’s head wasn’t real, her decision to wear something that looked so authentic still encouraged cruelty to the animal. These comments included:

  • Clearly not a real lion head or at least I hope he isn’t but as a very high profile person this was a very stupid thing to do as it glorifies cruelty to animals -oxo_helen_oxo
  • I love how he was very conscious to mention that it was fake and made of synthetic materials, but the idea of wearing an animal head on his chest crossed his mind. – daisofmylife
  • This is highly inappropriate, support or not, should never have been designed – jessmartine

Kylie Jenner posted another snap from the fashion show, showing off the lion’s head prominently. You can see it below:

Despite the criticisms, other social media followers recognized the dress as a work of art. It has been noted that the realism of the lion’s head speaks to the quality of Schiaparelli’s work, Tweeter that good art is always “buzzing” (pun by the writer):

The number of vegan/sustainable fashion commentators outraged to believe Schiaparelli’s lion, snow leopard, and wolf heads are REAL tells you everything you need to know about Daniel Roseberry’s dedication to craftsmanship. Each piece has been hand carved and embroidered.

Others on Instagram defended the use of a fake lion’s head, saying it was no different than people wearing animal prints or allowing their children to wear stuffed animals. These comments included:

  • But is Animal Print correct or what? Come on folks.. 🤦🏻‍♀️ you always find something to complain about – adri_anax3
  • People are sensitive. It’s wrong. They act as if their children are not wearing stuffed animals. Wouldn’t that also be considered “promoting animal hunting”? The same energy. Stop hating strangers. Let humans be! – nancy_ochoaa
  • Y’all are here acting like you’ve never worn animal prints “There are no animals” OR you eat meat and these “Vegetarians/Vegans” who don’t eat veggies have turned into a meat flavored item 😂! Enjoy the fake lion and go cuddle your PLUSH! (TEDDY) 😂 – tita_hndz94

There was so much discussion about whether or not it was irresponsible for Kylie Jenner to adorn a lion’s head all over her upper body, one commenter seemed to think everyone was missing the point, with @jumping_bean10 saying of the Instagram post:

Everyone says it’s 🔥🔥 but if they saw someone walking through Walmart wearing it, they’d laugh.

Truer words have never been spoken. hope when The Kardashians returns to Hulu for a third season, we’ll see more air of Kylie Jenner’s “Lion of God” and maybe not as many photoreal fat cat faces. keep an eye on TV show 2023 for this first date, and in the meantime, you can catch up on the first two seasons of Kim Kardashian and his family’s reality show with a Hulu subscription .
