boy meets world is a opening credit to many actors who are well known and respected in Hollywood to this day. Several TV and film stars such as Kerry Russell, Linda Cardellini and Lindsay Price have made notable appearances on the teen sitcom. But some stars were more than unique Break starring Adam Scott. Many BMW Fans remember the Emmy-nominated actor for playing resident school bully Griffin “Griff” Hawkins during seasons 2 and 3, but it wasn’t his first time on the comedy show. Two decades after his stint on the classic TGIF, Scott finally considered playing two different characters before disappearing from the show altogether.
While Griff has left an impression on fans of the series, the Parks and Amusement the former student recalled his previous stint on the classic sitcom by recalling the cast of Pod meets the world podcasts. Scott recalled right after graduation when he started working in Hollywood. At first he remembered boy meets world as her first acting role before Topanga Lawrence, actress Danielle Fishel cited previous roles in an MTV pilot and the medical drama emergencies. The Ben Wyatt actor recalled playing an unnamed character, Senior, in a role early in season two. In his words:
This might actually be my first TV job… Yes, Dead at 21 was an MTV pilot. It was my first job. It must have been six months before I got to my senior year on Boy Meets World… Yeah, I auditioned for that because I was doing background stuff, and I started getting roles and stuff. I definitely auditioned for that and had to audition again later for Griff.
Before getting the role of Griff, Adam Scott was just a member of the band who gave his guitar to Cory and Shawn. One would think that having the supporting role would allow the party downstairs stars to get around the audition process, but as fans have learned on the show, that’s often not the case. Creator Michael Jacobs saw something in the young star to bring him back.
While playing Griff was a great start to Adam Scott’s career, Will Friedle has opened up about a pivotal episode that changed Scott’s role on the ABC sitcom. Friedle referenced the Season 3 episode “He Said, She Said” in which Griff confronted former John Adams High bully Harley Keiner. After boy meets world An alum gushing over Scott’s confidence, Fishel asked the TV star why his character disappeared after the memorable episode. They Break The star was taken aback by Griff’s latest appearance as she explained her feelings about her unexpected exit.
I do not know. I don’t think they ever said anything to me. As an actor who hates himself, I was like, ‘Oh, they finally realized I couldn’t do this. I’m terrible.’ I never asked questions. I couldn’t blame them. [I was] like “This is how it should be”. I felt like in this episode of Harley and Griff face to face with him dominating and me disappearing into the background.
Harley essentially reclaiming her old turf from Griff spelled the end of the character. Even Scott knew the writing was on the wall when Harley Keiner actor Danny McNulty returned for a small appearance. Of course, you may never know the full story of Griff’s sudden departure. He wouldn’t be the first actor to disappear or be kicked off the sitcom.
Adam Scott is gone boy meets world stars in other comedy classics such as Parks and Amusement Yup party downstairs.
